Here at Alexander Windows we take customer care seriously and as part of that, the security of a property is a real consideration when fitting new uPVC doors and windows. As a general rule the handle should not be the only means of keeping the window closed and the locking system should be fitted within the framework and the handle used as a means of throwing or engaging the internal locking system. The window locking system that is fitted in our products are fitted during the manufacture and so are an integral part of the window ensuring maximum security.
There are two main types of locking systems:
All of our outward opening windows have a multi-point locking system for maximum security and a key lockable push button handle. It is also possible to lock these windows in a night vent position which allows fresh air into the room through a secured opener.
The Kömmerling Gold System windows and doors used by Alexander Windows all have internal beading on the framed sections for improved security to avoid the possibility of the glass being removed from the outside.
For additional strength, sections of steel reinforcements are fitted at the time of manufacture within the hollow profiles of the windows frames both for security and durability, and so that the locking systems can be secured through the uPVC frames into the reinforcements. All of our residential uPVC doors include a minimum of six-point locking system, which comprises of tempered steel hooks, roller cams and dead bolts. Our anti-pick / anti-drill lock barrels give additional peace of mind. Also each door frame is reinforced with galvanised steel and our door panels have a unique triple-reinforced core as standard.
Our Rockdoor range of doors have Kitemark KM522431 certification further validating Rockdoor’s quality standards and production methods. The Kitemark symbol demonstrates that the Rockdoor range has been independently assessed and tested by the BSI to conform to relevant British Standards.
