Secured By Design
Secured By Design is a crime prevention initiative managed by ACPO CPI Limited on behalf of the UK Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO). Secured by Design focuses on crime prevention at the design, layout and construction stages of homes and commercial premises and promotes the use of security standards for a wide range of applications and products.
The Secured By Design initiative ensures that products are designed with enhanced security measures. To be awared Secured By Design accreditation, a window or door must pass stringent security testing at an approved UKAS testhouse. The whole window or door must conform, not just the ironmongery or fittings. A window or door cannot be sold as a Secured By Design Product unless it has the requisite, up to date licence from ACPO.
