Our Environmental Policy

It doesn’t just stop after we’ve fitted your frames!

It’s important for you to know what happens to your old frames that we take away. We are fully committed to recycling everything we possibly can after your installation. Instead of throwing our site debris into landfill, we have built up a network of waste treatment partners who make sure that everything gets a second life.

This means that every week we help recycle approximately

- 2 tonnes of glass which gets made into glass products as diverse as bottles and loft insulation

- 2 tonnes of old uPVC frames get ground back into pellets to make traffic cones and hosepipes

- 8 tonnes of timber gets shredded down and made in mdf based products

- We even recycle toner cartridges and all our paper and cardboard

And did you also know that…

Kömmerling is the only profile system manufacturer to have removed lead entirely from all of it’s products. It’s unique GreenLine specification demonstrates a higher level of environmental responsibility. The Lime Tree Leaf symbol shows that both the extruder and manufacturer have voluntarily made a commitment to comply with strict European guidelines. Alexander Windows also has ISO 14001 (Environmental) and also ISO9001 (quality procedures) Accreditation.
